El Día de los niños (Day of the Child) /El Día de los libros (Day of the Book) is a celebration of childhood and literacy. A traditional Mexican holiday, El Día de los niños, began as a nationally recognized initiative with the support of children’s author Pat Mora in 1997. That same year, the US Congress officially designated April 30 as "Day of the Child."
Join the Greensboro Public Library, Casa Azul, the Latino Community Coalition of Guilford County, and other community partners for our annual celebration on Saturday, April 28 from 1-4:30 pm on Church Street between the Central Library and the Greensboro Children’s Museum. We will have books, music, dancing, art activities, food, and much, much more. It’s bilingual fun for everyone.
