The Greensboro Public Library participates in the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program, a national cooperative service that allows us to borrow books from other libraries for use by our customers.

Guidelines for making an ILL request:

  • If the requested material has been published within the last calendar year, please fill out the link to Suggest a Purchase form instead of the ILL request.
  • ILL is available to anyone who has a GPL card and whose card is free of fines and lost book charges.
  • Any resident of Guilford County or reciprocal borrower from an adjacent county who has a valid Greensboro Public Library card, and whose card is in good standing, may use the interlibrary loan system.
  • Audiovisual materials cannot be borrowed through interlibrary loan.
  • If the requested material is available at another participating library within Guilford County, you will be referred to that library directly. Referrals to the NC A & T and UNCG libraries require a form signed by a librarian.
  • College students and personnel should contact the library at their institution.
  • All requested items must be picked up from and returned to the Circulation Desk at Central Library, 219 North Church Street. Items cannot be sent to library branches.

Anyone who submits a form should be aware that in accordance with the North Carolina Public Records law, found in North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 132, his or her e-mail address is considered public record
