Amy Pitts, Geologist for Education and Outreach for NC Geological Survey, will lead this educator workshop on plate tectonics and geoscience. Plate tectonics have an impact on Earth such as mountain building, volcanic eruptions, seafloor spreading, the rock cycle, and even carbon cycles. Amy will share how these processes shaped the landforms of NC and are still shaping our landscape. She also will show us how geoscience affects our lives daily along with resources on educating high school-aged students on the topic. To register, e-mail Melanie Buckingham.
