One City, One Book Library Card Sign Up Day

Go to G.L.O.W.:Greensboro Libraries on the Weekends

  • CostFree

September is Library Card Sign Up Month. We are also beginning this year's One City, One Book Campaign in September. This year's OCOB title for kids is It's Trevor Noah: Born a Crime by South African writer and comedian, Trevor Noah.

Come get a library card and get a joke so you can try stand-up comedy , like Trevor Noah. Comedian Chris Fox will be here to help with your first comedy routine.

Play South African games like Mancala and Mbube Mbube. Meet the Black Panther. See the Black Panther movie and hear the actors speak Xhosa, one of the languages of South Africa. You can also munch on popcorn, make a scratch art African mask and take a tour of the library.

Don't forget to get a sticker that says, "I got my first library card". We'll have grab bag prizes too. This event is for children, teens and families. Children 17 and younger must have a parent or guardian sign for their library card.
