At his mother's funeral, uptight banker Henry Pulling meets an eccentric woman claiming to be his aunt, Augusta Bertram (Maggie Smith). After the ceremony, the two go to her apartment -- where a ransom note arrives for the release of Augusta's former lover. As they travel across Europe to the borders of Turkey and into North Africa, Henry and Augusta tangle with deception, authorities and death. Maggie Smith was nominated for Best Actress Oscar. This film is based on the best-selling novel by Grahame Greene. Viewers are invited to discuss the book and film after the screening. Copies of the book are available in the library’s book and eBook collections. Rated PG.
