Shirley Simmons, local African-American historian, will present a program featuring prominent African-Americans that have been involved in voting rights, such as Martin Luther King Jr. and others. A screening of the film Selma will follow. It is about the 1965 march in Selma, Alabama for voting rights spearheaded by Martin Luther King Jr. The film is rated PG-13.
