Knowing the News: Media Literacy Training

  • CostFree
Access to accurate information is an integral component of free expression and essential to civic engagement. The Greensboro Public Library and PEN America present a free news and media literacy training, "Knowing the News". During this 90 minute interactive training, participants will gain insight into how professional journalism works, learn how to assess the well-being of their news diets, and leave equipped to consume news with a critical eye and empowered to participate in the news ecosystem both locally and nationally. This training will support citizens in their quests to understand how the news is created, achieving balanced media consumption, and responsibly consuming the information (and disinformation) disseminated daily.
Reservation is requested. Register at PEN America. For more information, contact Beth Sheffield
