North Carolina Poetry Society -- Since 1932, the North Carolina Poetry Society has existed as an all-volunteer organization especially for poets and friends of poetry. The Poetry Society holds regular meetings three times a year in Southern Pines' Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. They also sponsor the annual Sam Ragan Poetry Festival, many annual contests for adults and students, and other programs.
Poets.org -- The academy hosts a wealth of online resources including discussion forums, pedagogical and critical essays about poetry, lesson plans, biographic profiles of poets, and thousands of poems.
Teen Poetry: Expanded Poetry Resources -- Funded in part by the generous donations of Poets.org readers, a teen home page has been created featuring reading recommendations, writing advice, spotlight audio and video recordings, as well as opportunities to get involved in grassroots poetry projects.
