Celebrate One City, One Book and join us for a film screening that highlights the cuisine of a local culture. This month’s selection celebrates Southern cuisine.
Waitress (rated PG-13) is the story of Jenna (Keri Russell), who works in a diner in a small southern town and is a genius at creating luscious desserts, but her marriage to an overbearing lout (Jeremy Sisto) makes happiness impossible. When she discovers she is pregnant, she makes plans to skip town before her condition is obvious. However, she begins an affair with the new town doctor (Nathan Fillion), who is the only one who knows her secret.
A speaker will be invited to attend with a brief presentation before the film screening. There will be a sample of the cuisine provided. Contact Ronald Headen by email or call 336-412-6199 for more information.
