Guilford County Resources for Federal Flood Insurance Program - Here you can learn about the federal flood insurance program which Guilford County participates in. The program is managed by the U. S. Federal Emergency Management Agency. Guilford County has asked Greensboro Public Library to make a few helpful publications available to the general public. We have decided to do that through our website.
Some are included as PDF documents:
Elevated Residential Structures
Protecting Manufactured Homes from Floods and Other Hazards
Reducing Damage from Localized Flooding
Mitigation of Flood and Erosion Damage to Residential Buildings in Coastal areas
Answers to Questions About the NFIP .
Others are available on the web:
Protecting Floodplain Resources
Protecting Building Utility Systems from Flood Damage
Elevating Your Floodprone House
We also have a flood insurance rate map set for Guilford County in our Central Library at 219 North Church Street in downtown Greensboro. The set is located on our second floor, and it is listed in our online catalog. You can also see a flood map covering the area of your address through an interactive map link on the federal flood insurance program website.
