Autism Afternoon

The Glenn McNairy Branch offers a designated Autism Afternoon to encourage our customers with autism to visit the library. If you are a parent who has been avoiding the library because you are concerned your child will be loud or disruptive, please come. Library staff members familiar with autism will be on hand, and signage will be posted to inform other library customers that it is Autism Afternoon.

Autism Afternoon is offered one Sunday a month from 3-6 pm. For specific dates check our Calendar of Events. For more information, please contact Kelly Proudfit, who is a youth services librarian and parent of a child with autism. (All Ages)

Sensory Storytime

Designed for children with special needs who are not expected to sit still or stay quiet, this storytime follows a visual schedule and is followed by free play with a variety of hands-on activities, including sensory bins, puzzles, crafts, and more. Children of all ages (and siblings) are welcome.

 Exceptional Construction

Join us for an hour of building fun with Legos, Duplos, and Lincoln Logs. Children, teens, and young adults of all abilities and their siblings are welcome to attend. One Saturday a month from 4-5 pm. For specific dates, check our Calendar of Events or call the branch. (All Ages)

Lego fun

Children can stop in and put their spatial skills and imaginations to the test. First Thursday of the month from 3:30-5 pm. (All Ages)
