Thank you!

We are excited that you are ready to get your Library card. There is no charge for a Greensboro Public Library card. To apply for one, visit a City library branch and show a photo ID with your current address or a photo ID and something that has your current address such as a checkbook or piece of mail.

Children 17 and younger must have a parent or guardian sign for their library card. Both the youth and the parent or legal guardian must sign the card.

Residents from surrounding counties are eligible for a library card.

Using Your Card

You must present your library card when borrowing materials. When picking up materials for someone else, his or her card must be presented in order to complete the transaction.

Replacement library cards can be obtained with a valid photo ID for $1.

Your library card allows you to borrow materials from all eight public library locations in Greensboro and to remotely access many databases and online services.
