Book Club Collection

Greensboro Public Library maintains a collection of Book Club Sets that can be checked out by area book clubs. The sets generally contain 10-15 books and can be checked out for four to six weeks, depending upon availability. You can browse the current list of titles here. 

Guidelines for Requesting a Set of Books

The book set check out process is manual. Some groups will request book sets months in advance. We now have more than 250 groups using the collection and typically work on the book discussion collection occurs on Fridays. The list changes daily, so please give the following information: 

  • At least two weeks notice prior to the day your group would like to begin reading the selection; requests are processed on Friday mornings only, so please plan accordingly. Also, give two to three back-up titles, ranked in order of preference, in case your first choice is already reserved. 
  • One person from a book club must be responsible for picking up the set, distributing the books to members, gathering the books, and then returning them. This person must have a Greensboro Public Library card.
  • Everything in writing – e-mail is preferred. All requests must be sent to Amanda Sanson. 
    Your email must include the following information; your library card number, your phone number, your email address, preferred location for pick up, how many copies your group will need, and if you would like an audiobook version when available.

Your group may check out these book sets for four to six weeks depending on their availability. We can arrange for books to be picked up and dropped off at any library branch. Books are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact Amanda Sanson to ask about this collection.
