Animation is Cinema Club at Hemphill

  • CostFree

AiC LogoAnimation is cinema, animation is not a genre, and animation is ready to be taken to the next step. Keep animation in the conversation.” -Guillermo del Toro, Academy Award-Winning director of Pinocchio and The Shape of Water.

Join us for the Animation is Cinema Club where once a month we screen an animated film, shorts, or episodes to celebrate the storytelling and artistry of animation from across the globe. Expect modern hits, art-house gems, hand-drawn classics, anime, stop motion, and more.

This month's screening is the 2015 rotoscoped anime film The Case of Hana and Alice from director Shunji Iwai. Learn more about the film here.

All films will be screened with subtitles when available.

This program is for adults. Teens and children are welcome to attend with parental supervision, but please be advised that not all content will be appropriate for those under 18.

If you have any questions, please contact Austin Craver or call the Hemphill Branch Library at 336-373-2925.
