  • CostFree

Animation is Cinema August 14Animation is cinema, animation is not a genre, and animation is ready to be taken to the next step. Keep animation in the conversation.” -Guillermo del Toro, Academy Award-Winning director of Pinocchio and The Shape of Water.

Join us for the Animation is Cinema Club where once a month we screen an animated film, shorts, or episodes to celebrate the storytelling and artistry of animation from across the globe. Expect modern hits, art-house gems, hand-drawn classics, anime, stop motion, and more.

This month, in remembrance of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh's death on July 29, 1890, we will be screening the feature film Loving Vincent (2017) directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman. Learn more about the film here.

The film is rated PG-13 and will be presented in English with English subtitles.

This program is for adults. Teens and children are welcome to attend with parental supervision, but please be advised that not all content will be appropriate for those under 18.

If you have any questions, please contact Austin Craver or call the Hemphill Branch Library at 336-373-2925.
