Please join workshop leaders Debra Kaufman and Melissa Hassard in exploring voices from the past, your responses to events or artifacts, and your own personal history through writing. As the Greensboro Historical Museum’s website tells us: “What may seem like ordinary objects tell extraordinary stories.” People and events from the past whisper to us, informing who we are and what we choose to do with our “wild and precious life.”
The workshop will start in the conference room on the first floor of the museum. Then particpants will explore all three floors of the museum and the adjoining cemetery. This multicultural and thoughtfully curated collection is truly a gem and may influence your writing in unforeseen ways. Then participants will reconvene in the conference room for a writing exercise.
Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil. Free and open to the public. All levels and genres of writing are welcome. For more information or to register, contact Melissa Hassard or call Beth Sheffield at 336-373-3617.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the Greensboro Public Library and Women Writers of the Triad.
