Harriet Wiseman Elliott (1884-1947) was a pioneer in women’s rights who taught at what is today UNCG, but her influence goes well beyond Greenbsoro. Kathelene Smith, Instruction and Outreach Archivist at UNCG’s Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections & University Archives, discusses Elliot’s efforts to get women the vote while Tracy Nash, President of the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad, talks about her organization’s ongoing work to promote voter education.
