Public Art Practice is a new, innovative arts-centered community service of Greensboro Artist Karen Archia. It brings art-making for everyone into public spaces to encourage creative self-expression. Archia is the artist who created the Community Art Box, which is housed at the Hemphill Branch Library until July 2020, and the former owner of People’s Perk Coffee House which was in the College Hill neighborhood.
Karen brings art supplies such as acrylic inks and paint, watercolors, charcoal, pencils, graphite sticks, brushes and sponges and various sizes of mixed media paper, and offers art “prompts” for inspiration. People can choose to do a free write, simply draw, or create any type of two-dimensional piece of visual art. This is an “open studio” experience with a working artist. Call 336-373-2925 to register for the program.
