Exclusion by Design: From Redlining to Gentrification

African American/Black History Month

  • Date: 02/22/2021 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Location: Online
  • Introduction: A Community Conversation
  • CostFree

One of the best ways for families to pass down wealth is through home equity. However, home ownership has been unattainable for many African Americans. Historical discriminatory lending regulations have led to systemically-ingrained segregation through the zoning practice of “redlining.” Join us for a panel of experts discussing redlining’s impacts on African American families in Greensboro. This program is co-sponsored by the Greensboro History Museum.
