The 2022 African-American History Month theme is Health and Wellness. Dr. Vieta Bland from the Bland Clinic will speak on the current state of health care in the African-American community. Dr. Bland, the practice’s founder, specializes in chronic conditions like lung disease and diabetes. She’s also a renowned hypertension specialist and the only one in the Greensboro area.
She’s also a syndicated columnist with her own weekly radio program where she takes live calls, allowing listeners to ask their health questions or concerns. Residents can catch her live on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm during the academic school year on channel 90.1 FM. Beyond treating patients’ ailments and monitoring their health, Dr. Bland oversees Phase III clinical studies at the Bland Clinic Research Division. Their current studies involve hypertension, diabetes, and lung disease.
This program will be in person and via Zoom. Please contact Ronald Headen for more information or to register for Zoom by email or call 336-412-6199.
