In permaculture, trees of various sizes are often stacked together in plantings called guilds to mimic a forest environment. In a two hour hands-on workshop, participants will install a small guild in the library garden which will include edible and medicinal species, plants to improve soil health, plants that encourage pollinators, and attract beneficial insects. In the process we'll learn about what permaculture is and how the principles interact to form functional ecological spaces.
