Celebrating the Anniversary of the Battle of Guilford Court House

  • CostFree

Join us for an interactive book club format with Ronald S. Gibbs MD, author of The Long Shot: The Secret History of 1776. It is an alternative historical fiction novel. WHAT IF General George Washington was seriously wounded by a British sniper during the early days of the American Revolution? The story centers on a young American doctor who is in a race against time to save Washington—and the future of the United States. We’ll learn not only about the novel, but also about the true historical characters and real events of 1776 and what if General Nathanael Greene had become commander in chief. General Greene is our city’s namesake and this program will also celebrate the March 15 anniversary of the Battle of Guilford Court House.

Dr. Gibbs grew up in Philadelphia and developed a life-long passion for the American Revolution, cartography, and medical history. The Long Shot: The Secret History of 1776, his first novel, was published in 2020. More info on the book is available at link. Copies are also available for checkout at the Greensboro Public Library.
