Children, teens, and families are welcome to drop in for a Makerspace Hour each week at the Vance Chavis Branch Library. This is a weekly program where we will build things together, learn new skills, and let our creativity thrive. Activities this summer include drawing, painting, LEGO challenges, beading projects. There will be many opportunities to combine art and engineering, as well as making slime and occasionally using a 3D printer.
We also plan on tapping into this summer's reading challenge theme: "All Together Now." Children and teens can collaborate as they complete projects, and their works can be added to our Makerspace Display for all to see. This program is ideal for ages 9 -17 years old. Younger children who might need assistance should be chaperoned by an adult. Please contact Kristen Mulvihill at 336-373-5838 for more information.
